I have been wanting to write about Uno, the card game that we play during lunch breaks. Uno is the card game founded in the US. It is not a traditional card game where you play rummy and ASS. Not sure how these games are called in the western countries.
How to play Uno?
Each player is dealt 7 cards with the remaining ones placed face down to form a “draw” pile. The top card of the draw pile is turned over to begin a “discard” pile. The first player has to match the card in the discard pile either by number, color or word. For example, if the card is a blue 7, player must throw down a blue card or any color 7. Or the player can throw down a Wild Card. If the player doesn’t have anything to match, he must pick a card from the draw pile. If he can play what is drawn, great. Otherwise play moves to the next person. When you have one card left, you must yell “UNO” (meaning one). Failure to do this results in you having to pick two cards from the draw pile. That is, of course if you get caught by the other players. Once a player has no cards left, the hand is over. Points are scored and you start over again.
Now the interesting part here is you have draw 4 and draw 2 cards. You can use this whenever you feel that your opponent is winning :). I feel so happy using these powerful cards and this game I tell you is addictive. This card games costs INR Rs. 55/- which is very cheap. The game is for children and adults too. You can play the game with minimum 2 players and go on and on. But the more the number of people, the more it takes to complete the game. So just chill and have fun.
