I had been to Coorg for the long weekend. Well, there are only couple of places to visit like Talai Cauvery, Abbey falls and Golden Temple in the Tibetan’s abode. I would say that they are worth visiting. But the cost we spend is not all that worth. The travel agents gulp lot of money in the name of commission. So, the best bet would be to book the accommodation online or through phone and that would help in saving some good amount of money. Coorg is 6 hours away from Bangalore. You can drive down by your own but your car will go for a toss due to bad roads in Madikeri. You need to go to Madikeri. The other name of Coorg is Kodagu.
In Talai cauvery, we had a dip in the water. That is the place from where Cauvery starts herself and flow across the state. It was a thrilling experience there. Abbey falls is another one where we had a great waterfall scenic view. It was just awesome. Tibetan’s abode - The second largest population of Tibetans are settled in Coorg. They have a huge Buddha temple where the idols are made of copper and then plated with Gold. They were so nice to see.
